Product Description:
Steel Shot is produced by means of a melting process and subsequently reshaped into spherical grain particles. Tis austenitic microstructure guarantees its long service life. It is used where ferritic residue (rust film, coloration) needs to be prevented.
Steel shot blasting media is the most widely used abrasive for cleaning, stripping and improving a metal surface. Steel Shot is used for cleaning, descaling, surface prep and shot peening. The grade or size of steel shot will determine the ultimate finish achieved on the surface of the metal. The round ball shape of the steel shot produces a clean, smooth and polished surface through a peening action created by the acceleration of the shot. Generates a high-impact force to clean and peen heavy forgings and remove heat-treated scale on steel and other cast metals.
Steel Shot and Grit can be used separately, or as a mix, in wheel blast machines or blast rooms to remove various forms of surface contamination and provide a surface profile on a broad spectrum of steel or foundry parts usually in preparation for a surface coating to be applied. In peening applications , our shot is used to impart compressive strength to torque or load bearing metal parts such as jet engine turbine blades, automotive springs, or heavy equipment crankshafts. As a cutting medium hard , our shot and grit is used in gang-saws to process granite and marble blocks.
Application:
