1 . Product Description
Tabular Alumina is a pure material sintered at super - high temperatures without MgO and B2O3 additives,Its microstructure is a two - dimensional polycrystalline structure with well - grown large tabular α - Al2O3 crystals . Tabular Alumina has a lot of small closed pores in individval crystal , Al2O3 content is more than 99 % .Therefore it has good volume stability and thermal shock resistance , high purity and refractoriness , excellent mechanical strength , abrasion resistance against slag and other substances.
Tabular Alumina is a key raw material to produce high - quality monolithic and shaped refractories , widely used in ladle castables , nozzles for CC , and in kiln furniture, rollres,special ceramics , abrasives as well .
2 . Application Of Tabular Alumina
Tabular Alumina is a type of sintered calcined alumina with alpha aluminium oxide(α-Al2O3) more than 99%. It is a high temperature resistant, corrosion resistant, heat shock resistant, high strength, chemicall stable material. It is produced in high temperature, which makes its alpha aluminium oxide grow into big grains. Properties are primarily those of alpha alumina with a purity of 99.8%: refractoriness, hardness, chemical inertness, thermal connectivity and dielectric rigidity at high temperature. It also has ceramic properties: high density, low open porosity, dimensional stability, creep and abrasion resistance, exceptional resistance to thermal shock, a surface coarseness which gives good bonding with matrices, and reproducible particle size distribution. These properties explain its development as a refractory
raw material, and its use in steel making and in electric furnaces, especially in Japan. It can be used in ceramics as filters for molten metal, fillers for epoxy resins and polyester, inert catalyst supports and heat conductors. There is substantial demand for Tabular alumina: in excess of 500 000 Tpa.
