Fused Zirconia Mullite
Fused mullite is a kind of high grade synthetic refractory raw material. By using high purity quartz and industrial aluminium powder as main materials, melting in tilting EAF, fused mullite is in gray color, low residual carbon and characterized by good acicular crystal structure, high modulus of rupture, symmetrical expansion, excellent thermal shock resistance, high refrctoriness under load, low creep value, high hardness and good chemical corrosion resistance.
Fused mullite is an ideal refractories, mainly used for low creep brick for hot blast stove, sillimanite brick, torpedo ladle brick, bricks for high temperature industrial furnaces, lining bricks for glass tank, bricks for large-scale iron-making hot blast stoe, sagger, deck and other thermal shock resistance ceramics kiln furnaces. It is also a high quality material for improving the toughness of mullite refined ceramics and monolithic refractories.
It is used in specialty product applications where a high resistance to environmental corrosion and a low coefficient of thermal expansion are desirable properties.
Applications include ceramic pressure casting tubes and refractory shapes requiring resistance to molten slag and molten glass.
Zir-mull bricks and bricks used in the Glass Industry as well as an additive in Continuous casting refractories.
